Addiction Specialist

Anna Warde, BA LCDC

I have over 20 years of social work experience specializing in supporting family systems and have focused on working primarily in the field of substance abuse and substance dependence for the past 15 years with an emphasis on chronic relapse. I provide diagnosis and assessments, interventions, treatment planning and recommendations. I enjoy working with families and couples, recognizing that addiction is a disease that impacts the family as a whole. I also find great joy in providing guidance and support for individuals employed in the addiction industry as these intense emotional environments come with unique stressors that can lead to burnout as well as relapse.

I specialize in cognitive restructuring as a means to improve thought processes, decision-making and coping skills as well as addressing issues such as codependency, low self-esteem, anxiety and depression. Motivational interviewing and person-centered therapies allow the client to navigate their own journey towards healing through personal empowerment.

The stigma of addiction and its impact on one's life as a whole can feel overwhelming, but individuals can recover and rewrite the narrative that has driven them into negative thinking and behaving. Recognizing and restructuring distorted thinking patterns and improving emotion recognition and regulation are the keys to recovery. There can be healing.
